How do I sign in to skokk?

Choose Vipps, Apple or Google

We use only the fixed ID from Vipps, Apple or Google to find your account. We send no email, and we never see your password with them.

Sign in the first time

1. 1.Tap “Continue with Vipps”, “Sign in with Apple” or “Sign in with Google”.
2. 2.Approve in Vipps, with Apple or with Google.
3. 3.If the account does not have a confirmed phone number, you enter your phone number, and we send a code by text message. Enter the code. With Vipps the number is confirmed already, so then you skip this.
4. 4.If we did not get your name, the app asks “What is your name?”. The name can have up to 100 characters, and everyone in your groups sees it.
5. 5.If you opened an invite link, you see the invite and tap “Join” the group. If someone sent an invite to your number, you join the group at once. Otherwise the app asks “Did you get an invite?”, and you can enter the code or make a new group.

Confirm your phone number

The app asks for a confirmed phone number before you go on. If you forget how you signed in, we send a text message to the number that says whether you used Vipps, Apple or Google. An invite to your number also shows up in the app.

• •The code has 6 digits and works for 10 minutes. If you ask for a new code, the old one stops working.
• •If you enter the wrong code 5 times, you must ask for a new code. If you ask for many codes in a short time, you must wait a little.
• •We send codes to numbers in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
• •Twilio sends the text message, and it says: “Your skokk code is 123 456. It is valid for 10 minutes. Do not share the code with anyone.”

When the number belongs to another account

If another skokk account has the same number, you see “This number is in use” after you enter the code. At the same time we send a text message to the number about how to sign in to that account, for example “You already have a skokk account. Sign in with Apple.”

• •“Sign in again” signs you out, so you can sign in to the old account.
• •“Continue with new account” moves the number to the account you are signed in with now. The other account loses the number, but keeps everything else, and it is still possible to sign in to it with Vipps, Apple or Google.

Phone numbers go to new owners. That is why we never use the number to find an account when you sign in. Whoever confirms the number, with a code or with Vipps, gets it on their account, and the earlier account loses it. The next time someone uses the other account, they must confirm a phone number.

See which method you used last

The app remembers whether you signed in with Vipps, Apple or Google, and shows that button first with “Last used” above it. The choice is kept in iCloud Keychain on iPhone and iPad, and in the Google backup on Android. So the app usually remembers it also after you install it again or get a new phone.

When you delete your account, the app forgets the choice. When you sign out, it keeps it.

How long do I stay signed in?

• •You stay signed in on the phone until you sign out. If you do not use skokk for 180 days, you must sign in again.
• •If you sign in with a method you have not used before, you get a new account, and the accounts are not merged. If someone tries to use an old copy of the key that keeps you signed in, we stop the sign-in, and you must sign in again.
• •We store only a fingerprint of the key that keeps you signed in. We delete expired and stopped sign-ins every hour.

Sign out

Go to Profile, and tap Sign out under Account. Then we stop the sign-in on the phone, the widgets stop getting photos, and the phone gets no more notifications from skokk. The app forgets the group you looked at and the colors you chose, but simple mode and the format you chose in the camera stay on the phone.
