We make skokk, and here we explain what the app does, with the numbers and limits that apply today.
Get to know skokk
- You sign in with Vipps, with Apple on iPhone and iPad, or with Google on Android. Before you go on, you confirm your phone number, with Vipps or with a code by text message.
- The family shares photos and videos in a group. Only people with an invite get in, and nobody can search for the group.
- For each photo you choose 2 days, 5 days or forever. When the time is up, we delete the file for good, and there is no trash bin.
- The app removes details about the location and the phone from photos and videos before they upload, and the data is stored at Google Cloud in Finland.
- We show no ads, sell no data, and skokk has no public profiles.
- Photos are free. One person in the group can unlock it for 200 kr a month, and then everyone in the group gets video, “Like”, comments and saving to Photos.

The app on iPhone, iPad and Android
- skokk works on iPhone and iPad with iOS 16 or newer, and on Android 8.0 or newer.
- The app has 3 tabs: Home with the photos of the group, Camera and Profile. At the top of Home, tap the name of the group to change group.
- The app is in Norwegian and English. If English is at the top of the language list on the phone, you get English, and otherwise Norwegian.
- On iPhone and iPad you sign in with Vipps or Apple. On Android you sign in with Vipps or Google.
- The widgets on iPhone and iPad need iOS 17. Only iPhone and iPad can change the color of the app icon.
- The app is not in the App Store or Google Play yet.

Questions about skokk
Is skokk a social network?
No, skokk has no public profiles and no feed of strangers. You only see the photos in the groups you are in.
Can people outside the family see the photos?
No, only the people in the group see the photos. The files are never public, and the app gets them through links that stop working after 1 hour.
Does skokk delete photos for good?
Yes, when the time is up or you delete a photo, we delete the file from our storage. There is no trash bin, so not even we can get it back.
Does it cost anything to share photos?
No, photos are free. Video, “Like”, comments and saving to Photos cost 200 kr a month per group, and only the person who unlocks the group pays.
